  • 1tspvanilla

Instructions

Prepare the Taro:

  1. 01

    Clean and peel the taro.

  2. 02

Cut the taro into quarter-inch thick slices.

  3. 03

Place the taro slices in a shallow pan and steam for 20 minutes, or until soft enough to be easily crushed with the back of a spoon.

Make the Taro Paste:

  1. 04

Use a potato masher to mash the steamed taro.

  2. 05

Add the sugar and oil to the mashed taro.

  3. 06

Add pinch of roasted purple yam powder for more vivid color. Roast yam powder first to avoid raw taste.

  4. 07

    Mix well until fully combined.

  5. 08

Cool completely, then refrigerate. This paste can be used in taro boba tea or made into taro buns.
